You’ve been pushing every button, hoping for a reaction.
You know exactly what to say to trip me up.
Blame it on me because I had it coming,
then we shake it off like it’s just how couples fight.
No broken bones, but my soul is slowly breaking,
tearing a piece of me away every time you play your games.
You enjoy knowing that you affect me this way.
You think it’s normal to have all of the control.
I stupidly still want to make you happy,
even though every bone in my body knows it’s wrong.
No tears left to cry, but my mind is slowly drowning
as you push me under every time you pull me back in.
